Before You Enrol 

Starting a new course is a meaningful step, and we’re here to make the enrolment process feel clear and manageable. Here’s what will happen from your very first conversation right through to getting started in your course. 

Speak With a Course Advisor 

Your journey begins with a friendly chat with one of our course advisors. They’ll help you: 
  • explore which course best fits your goals, 
  • understand any funding or payment options available, 
  • get a feel for how studying with us works day to day. 
They’re here to make sure you feel confident in your choice before moving forward. 

Your Enrolment Form 

Once you’ve chosen your course, your advisor will send you an online enrolment form to complete. This is where you may need to upload or reference a few important documents, such as: 
  • Proof of identity – driver licence, passport or other accepted ID 
  • Eligibility evidence for funding or VET Student Loans (if using) – additional evidence requirements apply, see relevant info page for details. 
PLEASE NOTE – all documents will need to be either certified by a JP or sighted by GTI staff on a recorded video call. 
  • Your USI (Unique Student Identifier) – required for all students in Australia, 
  • Any previous qualifications and access to view your USI Transcript – if you’d like to explore credit or recognition, 
  • Payment details – including payment plans or employer 
Having these ready will make the process smooth and quick. 

Processing Your Enrolment 

Once your form is submitted, our team will review everything to confirm your eligibility and finalise your place. If we need anything extra, we’ll be in touch straight away so there are no surprises.  When your enrolment is approved, you’ll receive a welcome message with your next steps. 

Meeting Your Trainer 

After you’re officially enrolled, you’ll be connected with your trainer. We will book your initial trainer appointments, so if you require a certain day or time, please let your course advisor know before enrolling. Your trainer will support you throughout your course and will: 
  • introduce themselves and explain how the course is structured, 
  • work with you to decide how often you’d like to catch up, 
  • let you know the best ways to contact them when you have questions, 
  • guide you through your learning plan and assessments. 
Your trainer is your key point of support, and they’re always happy to help. 

Navigating the Student Portal 

Your student portal is your study hub. This is where you will: 
  • access your learning materials, 
  • submit assessments, 
  • track your progress, 
  • stay in touch with your trainer. 
You’ll also find a built‑in induction course to help you get familiar with everything. You can return to this induction at any time if you need a refresher.

You’re never on your own. If you need help with your portal, enrolment, study schedule, or anything else, our customer service team is just a phone call away.  We’re here to make sure you feel supported, informed and ready to begin your learning journey with confidence.
